Every design project has different requirements; we customise our process to individual clients, fitting in with an existing team or system on a single stage to fill a gap, or completing a project from start to finish. We will customise our process to your marketing and commercial needs, rather than try to fit your requirements to a pre-existing template.

Introductory Meeting
An initial meeting is scheduled where the project is discussed. This allows us to define the project and provide a comprehensive proposal.
Deliverable: Proposal

Definition Stage
Research, costing, scheduling, product definition and role definition are all carried out. External information such as market research are evaluated. Possible IP protection is discussed.
Deliverable: Product Design Specification

Design Stage
Industrial Design, form, aesthetics and ergonomics are all considered during the design stage. All of the research in the definition stage is distilled into coherent design concepts. Boxclevers ensures through this stage that the concepts are manufacturable; the space-envelope of the product will be defined with component layouts
Deliverable: Concept and styling presentation

Development Stage
The chosen concept is refined and detailed in 3D CAD. Elements such as design for manufacture and assembly, required standards and value engineering are considered. Prototypes are used for mechanical and consumer testing.
Deliverable: Production intent 3D CAD

Deployment Stage
After the final design is signed off by means of prototypes, we liaise with the toolmaker. When the tools are trialled we review the parts for fit and function. Modifications are updated in the CAD model, and subsequent parts checked.
Deliverable: Signed-off, off process parts
