Innovation Taskforce Report

March 12th 2010

The Report of the Innovation Taskforce was launched yesterday by the Taoiseach.

“Growing and harnessing innovation has its challenges: innovation is not a simple journey from A to B, but one which loops around through time and space. To make innovation work for us we have to develop a system in which each element, and how it interacts with other elements, supports innovation across the economy and society.”

"User-centered product design, prototyping, development, engineering and management should be placed at the center of Irish enterprise and industry."

Angels - Beacons of Hope

December 8th 2009

Fifty Two Angels have been produced for the Angels Beacons of Hope initiative. The creator and coordinator Nollaig Fahy chose Boxclever over other companies based in Ireland and the UK.  Angels - Beacons of Hope is a unique Irish experience that will capture the imagination of the general public throughout the latter part of 2009 and early 2010.  A number of Ireland's finest artists, musicians, sports people and celebrities painted an angel using their own designs to show their interpretation of Hope.

The unique design of the Angels was presented to the Boxclever team as a 12cm clay model, to source the manufacturing process. Standing 2.4m high x 1.5m wide, they were manufactured in composite glass-fibre with a white matt finish, ready to be painted by famous Irish artists, celebrities and sports stars.

"Boxclever were approached regarding manufacturing the Angels, as they have excellent knowledge, experience working with multi piece tooling for products and parts. They provided me with a class A service, whilst achieving the balance of quality, cost & delivery.  The Boxclever team have demonstrated that they possess the experience, skill and ability to deliver on a difficult and challenging project such as this one. The project was completed on time & to budget despite tight deadlines & production challenges. I plan to work with Boxclever again as they took responsibility for delivery of the project, found solutions to problems and they were very easy to work with, in fact it was a pleasure to work with the Boxclever team.”

 Nollaig Fahy,  creator and coordinator
